What is AI Video Analytics?
AI Video Analytics applies computer-vision models to camera streams so the system can identify objects, recognize patterns, and generate meaningful events — rather than only recording footage for later review. At Vision this is an upcoming capability on our technology roadmap, not a service we deliver today.
What can AI Video Analytics detect?
The capabilities we are developing cover detections such as people, vehicles, intrusion into restricted areas, line crossing, loitering, crowd density, occupancy, PPE/helmet presence, fire and smoke indications, abandoned objects, wrong-way movement, and traffic patterns. Specific detections available at launch will depend on technology readiness and project requirements.
What is ANPR?
ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition, also called LPR) reads vehicle registration plates from camera images so vehicle movement can be identified, logged, and acted on — for example opening a barrier for a listed vehicle. Vision's ANPR and intelligent traffic capabilities are coming soon and are not yet commercially available.
Can AI Analytics work with existing CCTV systems?
That is the design intent. The capabilities we are developing are meant to extend existing surveillance infrastructure with intelligent analytics rather than replace it — compatibility with a specific existing system would be assessed during a site survey once the services launch.
Can AI Analytics integrate with access control?
Integration with access control, boom barriers, and similar systems is part of the planned architecture — an ANPR event admitting a listed vehicle, for example. As with all capabilities on this page, this is planned functionality, not something we deploy today.
Can AI Analytics integrate with VMS?
Yes, by design: the planned architecture routes events into VMS and alert-management layers so analytics and video live in one operational picture. Specific VMS compatibility will be confirmed per project when the services launch.
